Privacy

Written to be read rather than to satisfy a checklist. If something here is unclear, that is a bug in this page.

What we hold

• Your email address and a hash of your password. We never store the password.
• Your exchange API key and secret, encrypted with a key the part of our system that accepts them cannot reverse. Only the process that places orders can read them, and only in memory while it is placing one.
• Your bots, their trades, their positions and their decision journal. This is the product.
• A record of security-relevant actions: signing in, adding a key, taking a bot live. We keep this so that if something goes wrong, we can tell you what happened.

What we do not hold

• Your money.
• Any payment card. Payments go through Ozow, and we never see your bank details.
• Anything about you from advertising networks. There are none on this site.

Who else sees it

Your exchange sees the orders we place on your behalf, because they are your orders. Ozow sees what it needs to take a payment. The model that writes market analysis sees public news articles and market data; it is never sent your trades, your balances, or anything identifying you. Beyond that, nobody, unless a South African court orders it.

Analysis is shared, your trading is not

A thesis about Bitcoin is computed once and read by every bot that subscribes to it. Aggregate figures about how a strategy performs across everyone running it appear on the public site. Those are counts and sums about a strategy; no individual account, position or balance leaves your tenant.

Your choices

• Delete your account and everything that is not legally required to be kept goes with it.
• Disconnect an exchange key at any time, from here or from your exchange.
• Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, and we will send it.
• Turn off any notification except the one that tells you a bot has stopped trading.

Where it lives

On servers we rent, encrypted at rest, backed up encrypted. Backups are kept for thirty days and then destroyed.
